The case for banning laptops in the classroom posted by Dan Rockmore of The New Yorker.

I too, feel that I retained more if the note taking by physically writing it than just typing it.  Is it just a generational thing? That we "old-school" note takers are not correctly wired to retain the information we are imputing into our devices? I also have read multiple reports that state the same findings; people retain more information using paper/pen/pencil (be it reading, writing).  Interesting subject matter...makes me want to write a paper on it.
